This Japanese-style building is very elegant in shape, and it is built with local cypress wood, so it is quite intact.
During the Japanese Occupation, the relationship between the Tsou people and Japan was quite good. The Tsou people called the Japanese "maya". The Dabang area was the first aboriginal tribe where the Japanese set up the "Fan Tong Education Center" and was the origin of the Tsou's modern education. The Japanese Police Officer's House is the only "attachment" in the aboriginal area in Taiwan, and is used to entertain high-ranking officials who come to inspect. After World War II, it was the official residence of the mayor. It was renovated a few years ago. Don't miss this historical site when you are outing.
